Storage Unit Auctions
It is never our wish to auction a delinquent tenant's property, but unfortunately auctions are a necessary evil of the self-storage industry. At William Blount Storage, we not only follow Tennessee State Law, but we go above and beyond to work with our tenants to ensure they are able to keep their property. Regardless, sometimes our efforts are not enough, and we are forced to place unit contents up for auction.

William Blount Storage Rules for Winning Bidders:
- Winning Bidder must contact the Site Manager immediately following the auction closing to schedule an appointment for clean-out.
- Winning Bidder must present the Site Manager with a paid invoice from Storage Treasures along with a photo ID before being granted permission to enter the facility.
- Once the cleaning deposit (credit card or cash) and payment (cash only) are received, a receipt will be provided and the Winning Bidder will be permitted facility access.
- Auctions include ALL property inside the Unit (unless otherwise stated), and all contents must be removed in their entirety with the Unit left in broom-swept condition.
- ANY property left behind without prior approval of the Site Manager will result in the forfeiture of the cleaning deposit.
- Winning Bidder must notify the Site Manager when clean-out is complete so a visual inspection can be performed. Upon finding the Unit in satisfactory condition the cleaning deposit will be refunded without delay.
- Cleaning deposit schedule is as follows for all William Blount Storage auctions: $50 for 5x10, $100 for 10x10, $150 for 10x15, and $200 for 10x20. The deposit amount may also be adjusted for abnormally small or large quantities of property inside the auctioned Unit.
- Unit contents must be removed within 72 hours of auction closing. The Winning Bidder may, at the discretion of the Site Manager, sign a lease for the Unit at the prevailing monthly rate. Any signed lease will be for a minimum of one month and will not be prorated.
- No on-site dumpster.
- Prior permission required for any vehicle over 60 feet.
- Contents inside purchased Units are not inspected by William Blount Storage and are sold AS-IS with no warranty or guarantees. All Sales are Final.
- William Blount Storage requests that any personal papers, photos, legal documents, yearbooks, wedding dresses, military uniforms, or any other similar item of sentimental value belonging to the delinquent tenant be surrendered to the Site Manager so that it may be returned to the tenant.
- Winning Bidder may possibly be contacted by the Site Manager in the future concerning the possibility of repurchasing items on behalf of the delinquent tenant. It will be the sole decision of the Winning Bidder whether such a purchase will be consummated.
- William Blount Storage agrees to NEVER release personal information of any bidder unless required by a lawful court order.
- As required by Tennessee Law, the delinquent Lessee has the right to cure their account prior to the completion of sale by auction. In such a case, William Blount Storage reserves the right to cancel said auction. For the purposes of this part, the auction sale is not deemed to be completed until all monies owed by the Winning Bidder have been received by William Blount Storage.
The above rules are specific to William Blount Storage. Please visit Storage Treasures for their universal auction rules and regulations prior to bidding.
